ABOUT

Mr. Adwait Gadgil is an Indian Sitarist, recording artist, composer and teacher from Pune, India. His style of music is an aesthetic combination of tradition and modernity that makes Indian classical music accessible.

Musical Origins:
Advait is a child protégée raised in an illustrious music-loving family. His father, Shri. Vivek Gadgil(disciple of the Late Pandit Chandrakant Kamat, introduced him to the world of Indian classical music through the tabla and later recognizing his talent, entrusted his nurturing as an artist to Maestro Ustad Shahid Parvezji. Trained in the traditional Gurukul style under the able guidance of Sitar Wizard(Maestro)Ustad Shahid Parvezji in the well-known Etawah Gharana.


Achievements & Contributions:
Advait’s talent and dedication to his craft has been recognized with awards such as “Best upcoming Instrumentalist” (Gaanwardhan Sansthan, Pune, 2010) and empanelled as an artist of ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) by the Government of India. 

He has extensive experience of performing all across India as well as broadcasting all over the world through virtual concerts and gigs.
He has recently performed a multi-venue, multi-country tour across Europe and United Kingdom, bringing his vast knowledge and joy of Indian classical music to the European audiences. He was the first classical Indian artist to perform at the famous Marylebone Concert Hall in London, United Kingdom and theGeotheneum Hall in Dornach, Switzerland.
Moreover, he was invited to perform at the newly inaugurated Ayodhya Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Advait has also composed music for various projects for the film and TV industry. Along with performances, he is also an excellent teacher in his own right and independently conducts classes of students of all ages and backgrounds. 

He is determined to pass on the knowledge he has gained in Traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara  to his students and is being religiously teaching both online and offline since 8 years...

He is also associated with Eurythmy India as a mentor on Indian classical music with the aim of bringing Eurhytmy and Indian Classical Music together on stage. Such explorations bring inter-cultural and inter-continental artistic performances to centerstage.

Social work :
Advait is committed to spreading awareness and making classical Indian music accessible to children in rural areas. He regularly conducts sessions at schools, giving children a hands-on experience and encouraging them to explore their skills and talents.
